Coaches
- John Wooden, arguably the greatest learning facilitator ever, passed on June 4 of this year. My words could not possibly serve justice here, so I’ll let the Wizard of Westwood do the honor (all of which are entirely relevant in the pursuit of better golf):

“When I am through learning, I am through.”
“You must earn the right to be confident.”
“Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out.”
“Discipline yourself and others won’t need to.”
“It’s what you learn after you know it all that counts.”
- Hank Haney resigned after six years as world #1 Tiger Wood’s swing coach on May 10. A couple of excerpts from his interview in the August 2010 of Golf Digest:

“With all good players, you have to figure out a way for them to own the information that you give them. It’s important that they believe the information is their idea, not yours. When that happens it melds everything with everything else they believe, and they form a conviction. That’s when they really start to execute.”
“Teaching touring pros has always been, and always will be, a marketing expense – not a ‘job.’ It’s for personal satisfaction, for contributing to history, and for marketing your brand.”
