I&#8217;m caddying at<a href=\"http:\/\/machrihanishdunes.com\/golf\/the-course\/\"> Machrihanish Dunes Golf Club<\/a>. The majority of players I&#8217;ve deal with have not been visitors to this country, but Scotsmen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/theaposition.com\/anthonypioppi\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/57\/2013\/06\/Macrihanish-Dunes.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-1368\" alt=\"Macrihanish Dunes\" src=\"http:\/\/theaposition.com\/anthonypioppi\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/57\/2013\/06\/Macrihanish-Dunes.jpg\" width=\"572\" height=\"141\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There is a lot to like about how the Scots approach the game of golf but one of my favorite&#8217;s is the phrases they use to describe various aspects of the game.<\/p>\n<p>Early this week I was caddying in a foursome. Walking down the fairway, one player was recounting a recent round. &#8220;Then, at about the fourth hole, the Indian sitar player showed up, out of nowhere,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>I know that I didn&#8217;t hear wrong. Indian sitar player? Did Ravi Shankar materialize? Huh?<\/p>\n<p>Then it all made sense. Ravi SHANKar.
