At a press conference today at Muirfield Village Golf Club, site of this week\u2019s Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide Insurance and next year\u2019s Presidents Cup, PGA TOUR Commissioner Tim Finchem announced that Fred Couples and Nick Price will serve as captains of the U.S. and International Teams, respectively, for The Presidents Cup 2013 in Dublin, Ohio.\u00a0 Couples won\u00a0 the Memorial Tournament in 1998 and in the field this week as a sponsor\u2019s exemption.<\/em><\/p>\n The Presidents Cup 2013 will be held Sept. 30-Oct. 6 when the biennial competition returns to the United States and Muirfield Village Golf Club becomes the third U.S. golf course to host the prestigious match-play competition, joining Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Prince William County, Va., (1994, 1996, 2000) and Harding Park Golf Course in San Francisco, Calif., (2009).\u00a0 Muirfield Village is the first club in the world to host three of golf\u2019s most prestigious international team competitions\u2014The Presidents Cup, Ryder Cup and Solheim Cup.\u00a0 The Americans hold a 7-1-1 record in the competition, with Couples leading the U.S. Team to victory in 2009 and 2011.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
