Christmas comes a little early at The Phonician Resort.<\/p><\/div>\n

One of the perks of working as a golf journalist is partnering with manufacturers producing some of the most coveted golf gear in the marketplace. \u00a0Tonight, when I checked into my sleek room at the Phoenician Resort <\/a>the only thing better than the pillow-top bed was a cardboard box sitting on top of it, with the Antigua Apparel <\/a>logo stamped on the outside. \u00a0As sponsors of Golf Road Warriors Scottsdale, Antigua was generous enough to send a collection of shirts for us to wear this week from their nearby headquarters in Peoria, AZ. \u00a0I tore into the box like Christmas morning, flinging shirts everywhere and shouting a little “woo hoo” at the artwork in my room.<\/p>\n

Not only was the box filled with great golf shirts– it was filled with selections from the 2013 line which, if you were Sean Gregg, \u00a0for example, the Director of Product Development, you might describe thus: “For Spring 2013 the focus of pop accent colors on less conspicuous fabrications throughout the collections shows off the styling and design features of the individual garments.” \u00a0If you were me, however, you’d pull the curtains and start playing “fashion show.”<\/p>\n

The new shirts incorporate Antigua’s proprietary Desert Dry and Desert Dry ExtraLite moisture management technology– and who doesn’t love a shirt that employs technology? \u00a0And headquartered nearby to Scottsdale, Antigua should know about moisture management. \u00a0Our current Antigua wardrobe comes from the Performance 72 Collection, with a color palette including lapis, margarita (yes, please), apple, melon, phlox, and zest– which sound like the ingredients for a perfect sartorial cocktail, if you ask me.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, I’m not the only one who’d going to look great and stay dry in Antigua’s shirts, as the company is the official apparel licensee of the 2013 Solheim Cup Team– which will be outfitted with two separate apparel changes per day, a little more than the Golf Road Warriors have been outfitted with but hey, who’s got time to change clothes with all this great golf to play? \u00a0Antigua is also the official apparel company of the Golf Channel’s AM Tour, and decorates the bodies of professional baseball, football, hockey, and basketball players, athletes at a variety of colleges and universities, PGA TOUR and LPGA TOUR players, and now: the middle-aged wannabes known as the Golf Road Warriors. \u00a0And if they can make us look good, just imagine what they can do for you.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
