Webb Simpson 10\/1 \u00a9 Secret in the Dirt<\/p><\/div>\n

The PGA Tour moves to the famed Harry Colt and Charles Alison designed Seaside Course at the Sea Island resort. Tom Fazio updated the course back in 1999 and not long after it entered Golf Digest\u2019s list of Top 100 Courses.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tour golf is not the only claim to fame of the Sea Island resort, the G8 held one of its summits here back in 2004. Sea Island\u2019s story is a fascinating look at America\u2019s past. Howard Coffin founded Sea Island Investments back in 1926. Coffin was founder of the Hudson Motor Company and designed the original Hudson Motor Car, one of the first mass produced motorcars, which sold for less than $1000.<\/p>\n

Zach Johnson 12\/1 \u00a9 Keith Allison<\/p><\/div>\n

Coffin and his young cousin, A.W. Jones, worked to make Coffin\u2019s dream of a seaside oasis come true. In late 1928, The Cloister at Sea Island was born, it was designed in the Spanish style of Palm Beach architect Addison Mizner and their first course to be built at Sea Island was the Walter Travis, Plantation Course. Situated on the historic Retreat Plantation on St. Simons Island, the course opened in the summer of 1927 and quickly gained popularity.<\/p>\n

There are not many true links courses in North American but the Colt and Alison Seaside course design is one of the rare few and rightly holds a place in American golf course history and recently moved up 111 place to 76th in the worlds top 250 courses.<\/p>\n

My tips to win:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Webb Simpson 10\/1<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0comes into this event in great form having only been outside the Top 25 once in his last seven tournaments played on the PGA Tour, which includes a Top 5 finish at the Tour Championship and a win at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open a couple of weeks ago.<\/p>\n

Another player who comes into this week on a great run of form is\u00a0Zach Johnson 12\/1<\/strong>.<\/span><\/a>\u00a0Zach finished last season with four Top 5 finishes from eight events, which included his win at the BMW Championship. Johnson was only out of the Top 10 once in that run of tournaments. His first event of the 2014 season saw him tied for fortieth place at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, but his final round 67 seems to say the Iowan will be back in the thick of it this weekend.<\/p>\n

\"Brendon<\/a>

Brendon De Jonge 33\/1 \u00a9 Keith Allison<\/p><\/div>\n

A player who seems to enjoy competing on the Seaside Golf Course is\u00a0Brendon de Jonge 33\/1<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0who has had a Top 5 and Top 15 finish in the three years that the event has been played. Brendon hasn\u2019t had the greatest of starts to this season with a missed cut and tied fifty-third, but being back on a track he seems to enjoy playing should see him back competing here this week.<\/p>\n

My each-way tips:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Another player who seems to enjoy playing this track is\u00a0David Toms 40\/1<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0who was runner-up here last year firing a final round 63 that saw him move rapidly up the leaderboard jumping nine places. Toms also had a third place finish in the McGladrey Classics inaugural event. David had three Top 20 finishes in his last three events of last season and should come into this week in confident mood.<\/p>\n

Sean O\u2019Hair 66\/1 \u00a9 Keith Allison<\/p><\/div>\n

Sean O\u2019Hair 66\/1<\/a><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0comes into this week in good form after his Top 15 finish in the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open and he just missed out on a Top 25 finish in the Frys.com Open. But Sean is another player who likes this track and has two Top 20 finishes here in the last two years.<\/p>\n

Outside Tip:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

It would be rude of me not to tip\u00a0Tommy \u201cTwo Gloves\u201d Gainey 100\/1<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0who is not only the defending champion here, but we have over the last couple of years won a nice bit of money on the unconventional South Carolinian. And who can forget his final round 60 which moved him up the leaderboard and into the winners circle by twenty-eight places, now that has to be worth a pound each-way.<\/p>\n
