The course is located just outside of the city in a suburb known as Greenville.<\/p>\n<p>The original design was a small nine-hole golf course wedged between houses until Robert Trent Jones arrived. The South course opened for play in 1960, a year before the 18 hole shorter course, Dick Wilson designed which was named the North course opened for play.
