Sooner or later, each of us probably wonders, \u201cWhat is my life\u2019s purpose?\u201d Why am I here?<\/p>\n

This is your life, not someone else\u2019s so you can forget what anyone including me thinks about your situation or our answer to this question.<\/p>\n

Ask yourself, \u201cWhat gives me genuine<\/i> joy and fulfillment?\u201d \u201cFor me<\/i>, what would give me a sense of meaning to my<\/i> life?\u201d<\/p>\n

Your answers to those questions will give clues to whatever the right direction is for you<\/i>. Can you see how it may only be a matter of admitting to yourself what you really want out of life? It doesn\u2019t matter whether someone else might think your answers are big, small, right, or wrong \u2013 they\u2019re simply yours. From there you can seek out ways to make those things happen by yourself or somehow with other like-minded spirits make an active contribution to your mission.<\/p>\n

Making ourselves a priority is far from being selfish and egotistical. The dance of your life is part of a much larger play \u2013 of which your contribution does depend on you and your individual performance. Think of how your gifts might ultimately be directly or indirectly put to use for the benefit of others.<\/p>\n

Author Steven Pressfield perhaps said it best:<\/p>\n

\u201cAre you a born writer? Were you put on earth to be a painter, a scientist, an apostle of peace? In the end the question can only be answered by action.<\/i>\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

Do it or don\u2019t do it.<\/i><\/p>\n

It may help to think of it this way. If you were meant to cure cancer, or write a symphony, or crack cold fusion and you don\u2019t do it, you not only hurt YOURSELF, even destroy yourself\u2026 You hurt your children. You hurt me. You hurt the planet.<\/i>\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

You shame the angels who watch over you, and you spite the Almighty who created you and only YOU with your unique gifts\u2026 for the sole purpose of nudging the human race one MILLIMETER farther along its path back to God.<\/i>\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

Creative work is not a selfish act or a bid for attention on the part of the actor. It\u2019s a GIFT to the world and every being in it.<\/i>\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t cheat us of your contribution\u2026<\/i>\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

Give us what you\u2019ve got!\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n
