\nBenefit all and do not compete.
\nThey dwell in lowly spots that everyone else scorns.
\nPutting others before themselves,
\nThey find themselves in the foremost place
\nAnd come very near to the Tao.
\nIn their dwelling, they love the earth;
\nIn their heart, they love what is deep;
\nIn personal relationships, they love kindness<\/span>;
\nIn their words, they love truth.
\nIn the world, they love peace.
\nIn personal affairs, they love what is right.
\nIn action, they love choosing the right time.
\nIt is because they do not compete with others
\nThat they are beyond the reproach of the world.”<\/p>\n

Lao Tzu (c. 604-531 BCE) was a legendary Chinese sage whose collection of verses, the Tao Te Ching, is the basis of Taoism. You could do worse than to read and contemplate this for a few minutes every day.
