The PGA Tour is back this week with the start of the Fall Series of events and a new tournament and golf course, the Jack Nicklaus designed The Cliffs at Walnut Cove.
The Jack Nicklaus Signature design course is set in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The course opened for play in 2005, the par-71 course makes excellent use of the natural topography, with rolling fairways, significant elevation changes, wooded slopes and spectacular mountain views.
The front nine is more open and inviting, while the back nine becomes tighter and more wooded, with streams and elevation changes adding to the challenge. As you would expect from Nicklaus course, positioning is key, with well-placed bunkers, contoured greens and plenty of strategic choices from tee to green.
