The European Tour is back this week and pitches up in Denmark at the Great Northern Golf Club which opened for play in 2017 and is home to 27 holes designed by Jack Nicklaus. The club consists of an 18-hole championship and nine-hole academy course weaving its way around gently rolling hills surrounded by scenic Danish farmland on the island of Funen.

Jack and his team created seven artificial lakes for the design of the two courses, with nine holes of the championship course and nearly the entire short course playing alongside or over the lakes.

As you can imagine with all that earth moving creating the lakes, Nicklaus was then able to construct a 100-plus-foot ridge where eight of the championship course’s holes are played.
