Lots of good stuff in this week’s golf report for Crain’s Chicago Business. I write how golfers can play at the private clubs that host British Opens. There hardly is an open-door policy, but access is available. I’ve played several Open venues.
I wish that was the case at private clubs in the U.S. I write:
Nobody is suggesting that U.S. private clubs start offering two-for-one deals on Saturday mornings. The idea is to offer limited availability during the week.
Clubs could use this as a way to generate some additional revenue, an area of desperate need. Who knows? Perhaps some non-members will have such a great experience that they will want to become members.
In this week’s video tip, swing coach Joe Bosco shows how doing a drill from your knees can improve your drives on the course. It’s all about tempo and keeping your posture.
