Look at the Target: Simple but Often Overlooked

Looking at the target during your pre-shot routine is essential.

Something as simple as glancing at the target can promote better tempo and rhythm, improve alignment,  alleviate tension, expand visualization and much more.   Most tour players spend far more time staring at the target than staring at the ball during their pre-shot routine

Practice looking at the target right before you take the club back. This is the image you want firmly engrained in your mind’s eye.

  • Pause for Applause

    QUICK TIP:  Often times amateurs struggle with making a smooth transition at the top of the backswing. Try creating a slight “pause” at the top of the swing before transitioning to the downswing.  This will improve tempo and result in longer, straighter shots. dodiemazzuca@live.com

  • Revolved Golf Warrior

    This multi-tasking posture is great for the driving range.  Start by stepping the right foot forward into a balanced lunge position.  With a wide grip of the golf club, slowly raise it overhead with lengthened arms. From there, gently rotate towards the bent knee.  Hold for 5-10 breathes and then repeat on the other side.
