Bridgestone Golf has reintroduced the four models of the Tour B series for the 2022 season with a new cover formulation: Tour B RX and Tour B RXS–swings under 105mph and Tour B X and Tour B XS–swings over 105 mph.
Each has Bridgestone’s REACTIV iQ cover that the company says was an outgrowth of conversations with the most famous of their professional endorsement staff members, Tiger Woods. When hitting a driver, the cover helps the ball leave the face at a high rate of rebound which produces more distance and on the short scoring shots around the green the cover keeps the ball in contact with the face longer for more control.
Bridgestone modified the REACTIV iQ formula for each of the four models.
Bryson DeChambeau, the long hitting star of the PGA Tour plays the Tour B X while Woods tees up the Tour B XS.
“When you combine 900 polymers engineers and layer in feedback from Tiger and Bryson, it’s a recipe for innovation,” said Elliot Mellow, Bridgestone’s Golf Ball Marketing Manager. “These guys are hands on with R&D which really helps push our designs to the next level. Our R&D focus the last few years has been the study of contact science, optimizing the moment of impact for the needs of each shot. With REACTIV iQ, we have made great lengths to do just that.”
On the business side Dan Murphy, president and CEO of Bridgestone was quoted in the press release announcing the four new balls, “Over the last couple of years, the ball category has seen tremendous growth. And we are excited that our market share has outpaced the surging market. The reason for that is we are part of the #1 rubber company in the world and we leverage Bridgestone engineering and technology in a way that no-one else can. Simply put we make the most advanced and highest quality golf balls on earth.”
The 2022 Tour B family is in stores and online now with a street price of $49.99 per dozen.
