Lots of top players don’t carry hybrids but prefer long irons and the T200 and U505 fill that need. Both have redesigned heads for a clean look at address with the main difference between the two being the T200 which looks like the regular T200 model is a smaller head than the larger U505.

Both also are definitely “distance irons” which after all is the primary purpose of carrying such a club on the idea, they can be hit a long way but with more control than a hybrid or fairway wood due to the smaller head size and lack of bulge and roll on the face.

Just in case you need to fill a hole in your bag’s iron lineup it’s worth noting the U505 is available in a one-iron loft of 16°. Though somewhat common years ago the “butter knife” has fallen out of favor and it’s good to remember Lee Trevino’s comment in a different context, “Not even God can hit a one-iron” or maybe the adage, “The best place for a one-iron is in your garage.”

“With the new U505 and T200 utility irons, we have two distinct models that both offer the long-iron player distance, height, and consistency across the face,” said Marni Ines, Director, Titleist Irons Development, Golf Club R&D. “For golfers seeking the ultimate option to deliver launch and forgiveness in a larger profile, U505 is the perfect long iron for that player. Others want the benefits of a utility iron packed into a more compact, player’s shape. T200 is that club. Crafted with extensive tour feedback and input, both models are designed to look remarkably clean at address while feeling and performing exceptionally, blending seamlessly into the rest of the player’s bag.”
