TaylorMade is rightly promoting the looks of the new P-790s since these, the fourth version going back to 2017, are great looking–you might say confidence-inspiring. From a construction standpoint each loft of iron is individually designed to vary the location of the head’s center of gravity by manipulating the tungsten weighting and internal sound stabilization bar based on AI-software analysis.
Lower lofts have the bar closer to the head’s center and the tungsten weight closer to the sole. The P·790s continue to make use of what TaylorMade calls SpeedFoam Air, which is now 69% less dense than the original SpeedFoam.
The introduction of the P-790s completes the P-iron series for 2023.
Matt Bovee, Director, Irons Product Creation for the company said, “P·790 is a collision of art and engineering. The allure lies not only in the clean design and visual appeal, but also in the high-performance machine that lives within. It’s the total package, an ideal blend of external elegance and internal power.”
