Better players have had lots of nice things to say about the King Forged Tec line brought to market in 2022 and the 2025 King Tec has some features that will also please low handicap golfers. Forged irons usually are made in four steps, but Cobra added a fifth forging at 2000 tons of pressure at 700° C to create a uniform grain structure to produce the solid smooth feel they desire.
The face is an update of the H.O.T. design that is thicker in the center and thinner towards the perimeter for more rebound and distance.
King Tec-X has a similar shape but with a somewhat larger profile than the King Tec and more offset but the uninformed may think you are playing with a players iron, they look that good. The internal weighting also is much higher, 70 vs. 20 grams, to help produce a higher initial trajectory which is why the stock lofts are slightly stronger.
The King Tec-X also is available in Cobra’s redesigned One Length model with a 7-iron length shaft of 37.25 inches. The 4-6 irons have a 1.5mm wider sole than the regular shaft length version, more offset and weaker lofts all to aid slower swing speed players. Pricing is the same as King Tec-X.
