Tiger goes “Fresh Prince” with Kooch at Presidents Cup

Tiger Woods may struggle at the Ryder Cup, but the world No. 1 loves everything about that competition’s far less prestigious little brother, the Presidents Cup. To wit: Woods’ nerdy high-five celebration with Thursday’s four-ball partner Matt Kuchar.

Playing Angel Cabrera and Marc Lieshman on the first day of the overblown exhibition, Woods missed his birdie putt on the first hole but watched teammate Kuchar drain his to go 1-up on their Internationals competitors. What ensued was an amusing version of the Will Smith-DJ Jazzy Jeff high-five from the ‘90s sitcom, “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air” and a grinning Tiger jogging to keep up with Kuchar as they moved to No. 2.

The teammates reserved their explosive celebrations for wins, so when Tiger later drilled a birdie putt from some 15 feet to ensure at least a halve and remain 2-up, he and Kooch exchanged a modest fist bump. Leishman matched Woods’ birdie and bettered him on the next hole to get a hole back.

But the Americans went all high-fivey again after Kuchar bombed in a winner from long range on the par-4 ninth and moved to 2-up.
