Callaway Golf is bringing adjustability to its hybrid models for the first time in the new Big Bertha hybrid. Each new Big Bertha hybrid also features the company’s Hyper Speed Face that Callaway says increases forgiveness on center hits and off-center hits, so distance is a given on each shot.

With the Big Bertha hybrids (suggested retail price $249 each), players can choose from eight different settings with the Optifit hosel to adjust loft, lie and shot shape. The hybrids will be available in lofts of 19, 22, 25, 28 and 31 degrees beginning Oct. 17. Each Big Bertha hybrid also will be available in a new UST Recoil graphite shaft.

Dr. Alan Hocknell, senior vice president of research and design at Callaway calls the Big Bertha hybrid, “the complete package.’’

“Different from other hybrids we’ve had, we’ve put more emphasis on MOI Moment of Inertia) and forgiveness and ease in getting the ball up in the air,’’ Hocknell says. “With that you get all the flexibility of the adjustments in the hosel. It’s the same type of adjustability we have in our (Big Bertha) driver and fairway woods’’
