True Temper's Dynamic Gold shaft

True Temper Sport’s new state-of-the-art tour trailer, The Shaft Lab, made its PGA Tour debut at the World Golf Championship Cadillac Championship at Doral. The company says it has more than 85 percent of Tour players playing its shafts on a weekly basis. True Temper is the only shaft manufacturer with a dedicated trailer available to support the professional players on tour every week of the season.

The Shaft Lab is what True Temper calls a “a custom golf shop on wheels,” where its tour reps can do a wide range of club work from building a set of custom clubs from start to finish in 15 minutes to simply adjusting lofts and lies for the players.

Plans call for the Shaft Lab to attend 32 PGA Tour events a season and several Nationwide Tour events. To date, Dynamic Gold shafts by True Temper have won seven events on the 2012 PGA Tour and all events on the 2012 Nationwide and European Tours.

“Professional players are fine tuning their equipment almost every week between Monday and Wednesday before the tournament starts,” said Chad Hall, director of global tour operations and product marketing for True Temper Sports. “The Shaft Lab gives us the ability to support them in this effort and have all of our key shafts ready to go at a moment’s notice for specific player requests and our OEM partners to support their staff players.”

True Temper has five tour representatives who service the PGA Tour, Nationwide Tour, European Tour, JPGA Tour and the LPGA of Japan Tour.

“It is really important for us to work with the best players in the world on a weekly basis,” said Hall. “While we are able to help them maximize the performance from their equipment, the players provide us with invaluable feedback as we prepare to bring new products to market.”
