3 Drills for Three Foot Putts

1. Chalk Line: Snap a chalk line on a straight, uphill putt.  (Another effective option is to place 2 clubs parallel to each other a putter width apart pointing to the target).  Roll 30 putts or more checking to make sure your putter starts and finishes on the line (or between the clubs).

2.  Four Corners:  Surround the hole with four balls 3 feet from the hole on all four sides of the cup (i.e. Uphill, Downhill, Left to Right break and Right to Left break).  Start by going around the hole and attempting to make each putt.  As you advance, force yourself to make the putt before you can move on to the next “corner”.

3.  Record Breaker:  Keep track of how many 3 footers you can make in a row.  Attempt to improve your personal best every time.  This will help you be a great putter under pressure.  Compete with a friend to make it more fun.
