Machrihanish Dunes is a return to golf as it was originally. Only tees and greens were shaped and reseeded on this “true links” course. In Scotland true links courses are not created but born. People told us there was a ferry from Troon over to Cambeltown which is a short drive from the course. However,we chose to drive the long but oh so beautiful route down the Kintyre Peninsula. When you arrive the views and golf are well worth the wait. Welcome to the worlds most natural golf course! We slept in our camper and woke before dawn to walk out several miles to shoot this at dawn. Ireland is visible in the distance.
