This week sees the second WGC event of the year and one that I personally enjoy, it’s the Dell Match-Play Championship which this year tees up at Pete Dye’s Austin Country Club in Texas.

The club first came into being in 1899 and then moved to Riverside Drive until 1984. Members then purchased a 180-acre plot bordering Lake Austin and commissioned Pete Dye to design a new course.

Hill Country is known as the garden of Texas and the terrain on this track is severe, with canyons, a lake and woodlands. Dye has produced a course with subtle strategies, alternating shot requirements on a course that has every natural hazard conceivable.
