The PGA Tour now moves to Ohio for Jack’s Memorial Tournament, where green speeds will be up to 13 on the stimpmeter and the rough will be up to 4” deep so hitting the fairways is going to be paramount to making sure you hit the right section of each green, if not players will find themselves with some treacherous putts to navigate.
Muirfield Village Golf Club was the dream of Nicklaus and Desmond Muirhead, they acquired the land back in 1966 but construction didn’t begin until July 1972. The golf course, which is situated on 220 acres and was officially opened for play on Memorial Day 1974 with an exhibition match between Nicklaus and Tom Weiskopf.
