The European Tour heads East to Korea and pitches up at The Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea. The golf course opened for play in 2010 and become a model for the expensive private clubs that are common in this part of the world. The course was built on reclaimed land near Incheon airport and cost around $70 Million to develop. The lavish clubhouse and practice facilities were almost double that figure. One of the courses claims to fame is that it is the only golf course in Asia to have hosted The Presidents Cup.
A unique urban golf course that offers views of modern high-rise buildings while clocked in the peaceful natural scenery of the west coast. The course is situated close enough to the sea for the wind to play a factor on course strategy. Unlike most other inland golf clubs in Korea, bent grass is used in the fairways as well as the tees and bathes the course in a lush green, so it becomes a natural oasis, in stark contrast to the juxtaposed urban grey of city life that awaits outside the golf clubs gates.
