Book Review: “The Book of Golfers – A Biographical History of the Royal & Ancient Game” By Daniel Wexler

“The Book of Golfers” is first and foremost a reference book detailing some 1,300 people who have been important to the game.  The operative words are “detail” and “style” as Daniel Wexler provides enough information to make the book invaluable as a reference, yet easy and pleasant enough to be a surprisingly good read.  These types of books periodically surface and this one is a cut above.  Also interesting are the three Appendices in which the author covers Players, Architects, and Writers.

Yes, I did find a few people missing that I would have hoped to find, but there were many others around the world included so as to satisfy my curiosity.  This is a reference book with style.  At $34.95, “The Book of Golfers” is available from The Sports Media Group, www.annarbormediagroup.com.Boo
