According to Greecepost.com, former Shinnecock Hills Golf Club and Pebble Beach Golf Links superintendent Mark Michaud has been hired by Brook-Lea Country Club in Rochester, N.Y. Shinnecock and Pebble Beach hosted U.S. Opens while Michaud was in charge.
In 2012, after over a decade at Shinnecock, Michaud’s contract was not renewed, a move that came as a surprise to most superintendents in the Long Island region. Under Michaud, conditions at Shinnecock were always considered to be fantastic.
According to the Brook-Lea website, the Donald Ross-designed course was built in 1926.
