PGA Tour Canada Announces Partial 2013 Schedule

PGA Tour Canada announced an initial seven-event schedule for its inaugural season to be played across the country in 2013.

At least one additional event will be announced later this year, the Tour said.

The Times Colonist Island Savings Open,  at Uplands Golf Club, Victoria, BC will be first, June 3-9. After a week off, the ATB Financial Classic presented by TELUS takes place June 17-23 in Calgary, AB on the Talons Course of the Country Hills Golf Club. The Dakota Dunes Open returns to Saskatoon, SK two weeks later on Canada Day, July 1-7. The Syncrude Boreal Open presented by AECON is scheduled for the next week, July 8-14 in Fort McMurray (Alberta) Golf Club followed by The Players Cup July 15-21, Winnipeg, MB, at Pine Ridge Golf Club.

The PGA Tour’s RBC Canadian Open is set for July 26-29 at Hamilton (Ont.) Golf and Country Club.

It is not until September that PGA Tour Canada resumes play. The Tour makes its return to Atlantic Canada to play the inaugural Cape Breton Celtic Classic in Ben Eion, NS at the Lakes Golf Club September 2-8.

The 2013 PGA TOUR Canada season will come to a close at the Tour Championship of PGA TOUR Canada September 9-15. PGA Tour Canada has not announced the name of the host golf course.

The top five players on the Order of Merit at season’s end will earn playing status for the 2014 Web.com Tour, with the top player receiving exempt status for the season. Players finishing 6-10 on the Order of Merit will be exempt into the final stage of the Web.com Tour Q-School in Fall 2013.

PGA TOUR Canada Q-School will be conducted, ironically, not in Canada, but April 7-12 at the Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon (The Legends and The Champions courses) in Beaumont, Calif.
