Augusta National Golf Club Admits Two Women

According to this story from the NY Times,  Augusta National Golf Club,  “The home of the Masters, under increasing criticism in the last decade because of its all-male membership, invited former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and the South Carolina financier Darla Moore to become the first women in green jackets when the club opens for a new season in October.”

The women accepted.

A few months ago a friend with a lot of inside knowledge of the upper echelon of American golf predicted Rice would be the first Augusta member and eventually be picked to lead USGA, as well.
