In a hiring reminiscent of the halcyon days of the rivalry between Callaway Company and TaylorMade-adidas Golf Company, the former has hired Harry Arnett as senior vice president of marketing. Arnett had been VP of global marketing at TMaG, whose headquarters is just of miles away in Carlsbad, Calif. Arnett’s move to Callaway is the continuation of the restructuring by new Callaway President and CEO Chip Brewer.
Arnett replaces Jeff Colton, who had been Callaway’s senior VP of global brand and product. Brining Arnett on board is further proof that Callaway under Brewer plans to be more aggressive in terms of marketing than in the past.
“Harry has demonstrated an impressive ability to develop and execute compelling strategies on a global scale that clearly connect with golfers,” Brewer said. “We’re looking forward to his contributions and leadership of our marketing as we further strengthen our organization and move ahead with our turnaround plan.”
