Matt Every
There’s very little new under the golf equipment sun these days but a man named David Kargetta might be close. Kargetta’s giant triangular Blackhawk putter was the talk of this past week’s Sonly Open when it was used by Matt Every.
To be sure, the Blackhawk is the one of the larger putters you’ll ever see, but Every admits he doesn’t know much about it.
“I wouldn’t be doing the putter justice if I explained it to you,” said Every, who tied for sixth at the Sony. “I know that it works for me.”
How well did the Blackhawk work? Every finished 23rd in putts per green in regulation (1.720) and tied for 23rd in putts in regulation (28.3).
