Spurred by unprecedented sales in its RocketBallz line of drivers, hybrids and metal woods, TaylorMade-adidas Golf reported record sales of more than $1.7 billion in 2012, making it the world’s largest golf company.
The company said its metal woods sales (drivers, fairway woods and Rescue hybrids) increased 21 percent over 2011. TMaG also said it saw growth in the iron category with an increase of 32 percent. In the U.S., which accounts for approximately half of the company’s global sales, TMaG said its metal woods market share in dollars was 47 percent and its iron share was 25 percent.
