Ben Curtis became the first player to win a PGA Tour event with Titleist AP1 irons with his victory at this past weekend’s Valero Texas Open. The AP1 is a complement to Titleist’s popular AP2 irons, which is played by most Titleist staff players on the Tour. The AP1 iron is preferred by many mid-handicap players because of its multi-material construction, tungsten sole weight and dual cavity elastomer/aluminum co-molded insert that provide better feel and sound.
Of the top 10- finishers at the event, nine played Titleist golf balls.
Titleist also picked up three more victories this past weekend. Lee Westwood won the CIMB NIAGA Indonesian Masters with a Pro V1x; Michael Allen 9Pro V1x) and David Frost (Pro V1) teamed to win the
Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf on the Champions Tour; and Hiroyuki Fujika (Pro V1) won the Tsuruya Open.
