Royal County Down Golf Club

A high pressure system was predicted over Ireland after several days of rain. We drove up to Newcastle in Northern Ireland to be in place for sunrise over the course at Royal County Down Golf Club. The Club was founded in 1889. This was our third visit there but had been shut out by the heavy cloud cover on the previous trips.  Our reward was this glorious sunrise. This is the view from behind the green of hole number 3 at Royal County Down with Newcastle, the Bay of Dundrum and a cloud hovering over the Mountains of Mourne in the background.
