The European Tour now moves to Ireland for the Irish Open this time teeing it up at Galgorm Castle a course that I have had the pleasure of playing a few times now and once in the Northern Ireland Open ProAM an event that is played annually on the Challenge Tour. It maybe a new venue for some of the players this week, but there will be a few who have played here before who have now moved up to the European Tour and have very fond memories of playing here.
Galgorm Castle is a course that has matured well with age, unfortunately the weather today isn’t as nice as yesterday but I crash my driver down the fairway on this 437-yard dogleg right hole it is certainly a testing opener for both amateurs and professionals. The 2nd is another dogleg right played to a long thin green.
