The PGA Tour now moves to the Santa Monica Mountains in California and the Jack Nicklaus designed Sherwood Country Club that used to host the Chevron World Challenge tournament hosted by Tiger Woods, before it became the Hero World Championship and moved to the Bahamas.
Sherwood Country Club sits in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains, a few miles to the southwest of the city of Thousand Oaks, which was home to the Chumash Native Americans before the area was discovered by Spanish explorer Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo in the 16th century, when as you can imagine their home was destroyed to make way for “progress”.
