Firstly congratulations to Sergio Garcia, Shane Lowry and Ian Poulter on their Captains picks for the European Ryder Cup team and Jordan Spieth, Tony Finau, Xander Schauffele, Harris English, Daniel Berger and Scottie Scheffler for the US team. The European Tour now moves to Holland for the Dutch Open and pitches up at a new venue in Cromvoirt in the North Brabant province.

The venue changed hands from Dutch entrepreneur Sander van Gelder to Robert van der Wallen in 2016 who commissioned one of my favourite golf course designers in Hal Phillips – click here for interview – He is an designer whose expertise lies in striking a balance between what the players want, and what nature needs. Kyle Phillips has produced some of the most beautiful and interesting courses around the world, which are well known for their visual appeal as well as their sustainability credentials.
