The DP World Tour stays in Africa, but now moves to south and a new tournament to be held at the first Jack Nicklaus Signature course in South Africa which opened for play in 1998.

Pecanwood is named after the grove of pecan nut trees found on the property and is owned by the Golf Data company who built the course and moved over a million cubic metres of earth to transform a flat piece of farmland beside the Hartbeespoort Dam into the course it looks today.

Situated on the southern shore of the Hartebeesport Dam with the Magaliesberg Mountains in the background, the course has over 13,000 yards of undersoil drainage lines, they planted over 6,000 trees, the course also has five lakes and has over twelve acres of bunkers – although these are more for the aesthetic of the course as they are relatively flat.
