The FedEx Cup play-offs now move to a new venue for the BMW Championship, designed by Robert Trent Jones the South course at Wilmington Country Club has twice played host to the US Junior Amateur. The course is located just outside of the city in a suburb known as Greenville.
The original design was a small nine-hole golf course wedged between houses until Robert Trent Jones arrived. The South course opened for play in 1960, a year before the 18 hole shorter course, Dick Wilson designed which was named the North course opened for play. In 2008 golf course architect Keith Foster was commission to undertake renovations to the South Course.
