The DP World Tour stays in South Africa this week but moves to Johannesburg and the Jack Nicklaus designed course at Steyn City which is the focal point of a vast parkland and real estate project.
The course is situated on the site of an old quarry and runs either side of the Jukskei River, which meanders through the estate, with the par four 1st and par three 9th playing across the river. Look out for the downhill 7th tee shot that flirts with a wandering stream and the split fairway at the 18th.
The layout has 75 bunkers and several water features lining wide fairways, which utilise a fescue/ryegrass mix, that helps guarantee good year round playing conditions, while the greens and tees have been seeded with bent grass.
