With that missed putt on the 18th hole at Pinehurst number 2 still raw in the memory, we head to Royal Troon for the final Major Championship of the year, The Open. This year’s championship will have so many questions to answer. Will Rory be able to come back mentally from those final four holes at Pinehurst? Will Scottie Scheffler, the world number one, become the Champion Golfer of the Year? Will Jon Rahm finally show up at a Major Championship after moving to LIV? Will a non-American golfer step up and win a Major this year?
Links golf can be as unpredictable as the weather in Ayrshire, which can give you all four seasons in the space of two holes. Will Royal Troon give us another winner like in 2004 with Todd Hamilton, who was fairly unknown at the time, or a superstar like the 1982 champion Tom Watson, or another epic dual like that of Mickelson and Stenson in 2016?
