Often it is useful to refer to nature to better see ourselves. Take dolphins, for example. They live in a very competitive, dangerous arena, yet thrive because they don’t compromise the basics of life. They play everyday. They are socially connected to their groups and communities. In contrast, we are becoming increasingly isolated through social media, texting, and more working at home. Dolphins relax. We tend toward hyper-individualism and are so much in a hurry and on the go with stress the leading epidemic of the Twenty-First Century. Multi-tasking is just the type of the iceberg. We need downtime. It’s time to adapt and copy the dolpins: Play, Connection, and Downtime keep you in healthy balance.
