Mizuno’s new Grain Flow Forged MP-59 irons with the next generation of the company’s forged Ti Muscle technology will be available the middle of this month. The MP-59s feature a titanium insert forged into the center of the muscle, which Mizuno says provides cavity like forgiveness in a player’s half cavity design.
During the Grain Flow Forging process, according to Mizuno, 12 grams of pure Titanium material is forged into the muscle of the MP-59 to deliver a five percent larger sweet area compared to the MP-58, the iron which debuted Ti Muscle Technology. The MP-58 is one of the best irons Mizuno has ever produced, so the MP-59 certainly has big shoes to fill.
“With Mizuno’s Ti Muscle technology, we’ve preserved the soft feel and compact head size that Mizuno MP players expect, while increasing forgiveness, which is truly the “holy grail” combination of performance characteristics for today’s more serious players,” said Dick Lyons VP and General Manager, Mizuno USA, Inc. “The MP-59’s are ground breaking in concept and design, with a look, feel, and play unlike any forged iron Mizuno has delivered to date.”
The MP-59 irons (suggested retail price $999.99) have a traditional MP sized head shape, thus enhancing workability for the accomplished player. Lyons said the Grain Flow Forged material that makes up the MP-59 irons provides a soft and consistent experience at impact, while the titanium forged into the head delivers even more of a solid feel.
