Ping’s i20 irons feature “progressive set” design (VIDEO)

Ping Golf’s new i20 irons are designed with what the company calls a “a progressive set design.” That is, the long irons are slightly larger, high launching and more forgiving. The smaller short irons feature less offset and provide exceptional control. Distance control and a solid feel come from a thicker hitting area and stabilizing bars in the cavity.

Watch and listen as Ping senior product designer (and former PGA Tour player) Mike Nicolette takes you through the design of the i20 irons and how its design gives a player command of the club face – better for controlling trajectory and shot shape.

The multi-material Ping i20 irons, which feature Tungsten toe weighting, are part of the line of irons that also include drivers, metal woods and hybrids.

Mark Wilson used Ping i20 irons and an i20 to win the Humana Challenege earlier this year in La Quinta, Calif.
