McIlroy officially joins TaylorMade stable with club and ball deal

Irish star Rory McIlroy has officially signed an equipment deal with TaylorMade-adidas Golf, giving the equipment company the top three players in the world rankings – Dustin Johnson (1), Jason Day (2) and McIlroy.

How – if at all – that rich (pardon the pun) stable will impact any potential sale of TaylorMade is uncertain. TaylorMade parent Adidas Group has had the company on the market for the better of the past two years.

McIlroy also will play TaylorMade’s new TP5x golf ball.

Here’s a projected look at the four-time Major winner’s bag as he goes into this week’s Players Championship.
