Adams Golf has Idea CMB iron that features Nickel Chrome Satin finish and is forged from the forged 1025 carbon steel. The Idea CMB probably is the best-looking Adams iron ever to hit the market – a good way to kick off its brand as part of the TaylorMade-adidas family. TMaG closed on the acquisition of Adams Golf earlier this month.
“With the CMBs we have created an iron that appeals to the best players in the world, but also has technology to make them playable for a wide range of players,” said Tim Reed, Vice president of R&D for Adams Golf. “The look and feel of the CMB irons meets the demands of tour players and low handicap amateurs, but the tungsten weighting in each iron makes them great for aspiring players as well.”
Each iron has a tungsten weighting low in the toe, Reed said, to have the center of gravity precisely centered in the score lines to enhance the feel and produce minimal twisting at impact.
This technology should make the CMB appeal to better players as well as possibly some Tour players. In fact, Paul Haley II, the leading money winner on the Nationwide Tour this season, has switched to CMB irons after playing a split set of Idea MB2’s in the short irons and Idea Pro a12 irons in the long irons.
The Idea CMB irons carry a suggested retail price of $1099.99 (steel) and $1199.99 (graphite), and will be offered in right-hand only.
