If you want to master the golf swing that even Tiger Woods seems to be having trouble with, check out the golfer’s new Tiger Woods: My Swing app for iPhones. Ready for download today from the Apple App Store for iPhone and iPod touch, the $9.99 app lets you take video of your own swing, compare it with Woods’, and listen while virtual Coach Tiger provides instruction and golf-swing analysis.
Woods is launching the app — his first — with Shotzoom. Proceeds from sales will benefit the Tiger Woods Foundation.
“Everything about this app is based on how I practice,” Woods said in a release on his TigerWoods.com website. “I’ve rebuilt my swing a number of times over the years and use this technology to gauge my development and help with my swing transitions. I’m excited that through this app I can take this technology on the road with me and that golfers around the world can now do the same to improve their game.”
With the app, you may match your swing with Tiger’s and track your progress. You may also share and compare your swing with Shotzoom’s online Golfshot community of more than 500,000 members.
One might wonder about the timing of the app’s launch, what with Woods continuing to struggle with his Sean Foley-inspired swing. Of course, you may be better off emulating the swing of 7-year-old Tiger. Indeed, the golfer himself may want to ditch Foley’s techno-geek complexities and study his simple swing of yore.
Shotzoom’s previous apps include Golfshot: Golf GPS and Golfplan with Paul Azinger.
