Ping's new Nome putter
Ping Golf hasn’t given a specific date for consumer availability of suddenly-hot Nome putter, used by Hunter Mahan to win the WGC Accenture Match Play Championship this past Sunday. Many companies might have rushed out the Nome this month in an effort to capitalize on its popularity. Ping Golf, however, is staying with its conservative nature, saying only that the putter will be available to consumers “in early April.”
The Nome is precision milled from high-grade aluminum and features tungsten weighting in the sole. It will be in standard and belly-length versions. Three different shaft bends will be available to fit Straight, Slight Arc, or Strong Arc putting strokes.
A standard length Nome will carry a suggested retail price of $270 and a belly putter will carry a SRP of $320.
