Titleist is set next month to begin releasing a new line of Scotty Cameron putters. Hoping to cash in on the popularity of belly and long putters, the company’s 10 new flat sticks will feature three mid-length options and two long putters in addition to five modern blade models.
The new Select putters sport a deep milled face for a softer feel and sound and a finish Titleist calls Black Mist. With the exception of the Big Sur and Big Sur S long putters, each club is precision milled from soft, 303 stainless steel. The longer sticks feature high-grade milled aluminum heads.
Titleist has developed and refined the putters “through product and player research” at its Cameron Putter Studio “and on practice greens around the world,” Cameron said in a statement.
Cameron designed the putters, with a “stepless” steel shaft to give the appearance that the head flows naturally into the ground. Golfers can adjust the lie +/- 2 degrees off the standard 71 degrees, and the loft +/- 1 degree from the standard 4 degrees, he said.
The traditional putters — Cameron Select Newport, Newport 1.5, Newport 2, Notchback, and Newport 2.6 — replace the Studio Select family. Each head features a glare-free finish and the clubs offer sole weighting and a new Select black grip with a red Cameron logo. All standard right-hand models are available in 33-, 34-, and 35-inch lengths, as well as 34H and 35H custom heavier weight configurations.
The GoLo Mallets and GoLo Mids replace the Studio Select Kombi Mallet and Kombi Mid lines. The GoLo (single bend shaft) and GoLo S (straight shaft) offer a rounder profile with Select weighting technology, a slightly asymmetric back profile, contained cavity lines, and pulled-in heel. Golfers may choose from two neck configurations for the putters, which will be available in 33, 34, and 35 inches, as well as 34H and 35H custom heavier weight configurations. The Newport Two Mid, GoLo Mid, and GoLo S Mid come in a standard length of 43 inches with custom lengths of 40 inches-46 inches available.
The Select Big Sur and Big Sur S replace the Studio Select Kombi Long line. Each putter features a stainless steel center sole weight bar, triangulated stainless weights, a one-piece black grip, Black Mist-plated finish, and weights in the sole. The standard length and lie of each club is 49 inches and 79 degrees, respectively, with lengths of 46 inches-52 inches available through custom order.
All of the conventional putters will be available at retail on April 1, while the mid-length and long putters will be in golf shops a month later. Each will retail for $375.
