Ernie Els picked up his second Open Championship at Royal Lytham with a bag full of Callaway Golf clubs and a Callaway HEX Black golf ball. The Big Easy played a Callaway RAZR Fit driver (8.5 degrees); Callaway X fairway wood (15); Callaway X Utility Prototype irons (18, 21, 24); Callaway X Muscle irons; Callaway X Series Jaws wedges (52, 60); Odyssey White Hot XG #1 Belly Putter.
Els now has four major championships in his year (two U.S. Opens, two Opens), tying him with fellow Callaway staff member Phil Mickelson (three Masters, one PGA).
Els’ victory yesterday on England’s northwest coast was the beginning of a big week for Callaway Golf. The company will report its second quarter earnings on Thursday. Callaway announced earlier this month it estimates its first half 2012 sales at $565 million, a one percent increase compared to the same period in 2011.
