Sun Mountain, designer and manufacturer of some of the industry’s best golf bags, has been named Official Bag and Outerwear of the Symetra Tour. New for the 2012, the Symetra Tour will allow the use of push carts in competition. In its partnership role, Sun Mountain will be naming a Symetra Tour Players’ Advisory Council, will conduct a golf bag trade-in program at several tour events and will continue the end of the season Sun Mountain Skills Summit.
Sun Mountain’s Speed Cart was a revolutionary introduction in 1999. It’s foldable, three-wheeled push cart that easily fits in and out of most cars. For players who like to walk, the Speed Cart is terrific. The company now even has four-wheeled Micro-Cart.
In addition to their choice of golf push carts, members of the Players Advisory Council will also be carrying Sun Mountain golf bags, and wearing Sun Mountain rain wear, wind wear and thermal wear. Sun Mountain is also outfitting the Symetra Tour road staff with outerwear and is the exclusive golf bag and outerwear in the Symetra Tour online pro shop.
The Symetra Tour is the most established women’s developmental tour in the world, entering 32 years of structured competition in 2012. The Symetra Tour is known as “the Road to the LPGA” and since 1999, it has been designated as the LPGA’s developmental tour. The Symetra Tour annually awards LPGA membership to its top players. A total of 77 players have automatically “graduated” since 1999. Among the tour’s top alums are Lorena Ochoa, Cristie Kerr, Karrie Webb, Christina Kim and Meg Mallon.
